Soul food is more than just a meal at Harmony’s Kitchen. It is a message. It is a story served hot, spiced with culture, and rooted in identity. Tucked in the heart of Winooski, this catering business is turning heads and feeding hearts with a bold mix of African, Southern, and Puerto Rican flavors.

Owner Harmony Edosomwan calls her style "Afro-fusion soul food," and she is not just talking about ingredients. Her dishes tell a story of where she is from and who she is: Growing up in the Bronx, surrounded by culture, rhythm, and the magic that happens when food brings people together.

A Fresh Take on Classic Soul Food

Harmony’s soul food doesn’t stick to one lane. It pulls from Nigerian jollof rice, Southern fried chicken, and Puerto Rican plantains. Each dish is bold, flavorful, and unapologetically unique. It is comfort food - but with a twist that surprises you in the best way.

Harmony's / IG / Harmony’s does not offer your usual catering menu. It is layered, it is colorful, and it reflects Harmony’s own roots and the cultural blend she grew up with.

Her food doesn’t just taste good. It feels like home, even if you have never had food quite like it before.

Building Community Through Culture

Harmony started her cooking journey at the University of Vermont. What began as a way to feed friends turned into a full-blown business. But her real mission is not just about plates and portions. It is about people.

She is passionate about building a sense of community through food. Living in Vermont, she didn’t always feel like she fit in, but soul food gave her a way to connect. Every dish is an invitation to sit down, share a story, and learn something new about someone else.

Vermont, Soul Food, and Something New

Soul food might seem like an unexpected choice in a state known for maple syrup and snowy peaks. But that is what makes Harmony’s Kitchen stand out. People here are hungry for something different. When Harmony started cooking, the response was loud and clear: This is what we have been waiting for.

Vermont may be small, but it loves its small businesses. When someone shows up with big flavor and a clear vision, the community shows up right back.

Harmony's / IG / Edosomwan, the owner of the kitchen, is proud to call Vermont home now. This state shaped her adulthood, helped her grow, and gave her space to shine.

Food With a Deep Purpose

Harmony’s mission is bigger than the meals she serves. It is about representation. As a Black woman entrepreneur in Vermont, she is breaking barriers and opening doors. Her presence in the kitchen, and soon maybe on the Miss Vermont stage, sends a message: you belong here, and your voice matters.

Now, her goal is to give back - to feed the community that helped feed her spirit.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Harmony is making room for others to follow. She wants young girls, especially those who look like her, to know they can create their own space, too. Whether it is running a business, entering a pageant, or starting something completely new, she hopes her journey sparks more courage.

In her eyes, Vermont has space for everyone. It just needs more people willing to bring their full selves to the table. Harmony does that every day, and her story shows what happens when someone dares to be bold.
